Russians’ foreign currency deposits fall to 10-year low in Apr
MOSCOW, May 25 (PRIME) -- Russians’ deposits in foreign currencies decreased to a 10-year low of U.S. $58.9 billion as of May 1, Maxim Osadchy, director of the research department at Corporate Finance Bank, told PRIME on Tuesday citing the central bank’s data.
Funds in foreign currencies on retail banking accounts hit a record high of the equivalent of $32.3 billion as of May 1 rising by $879.4 million on the month. Ruble accounts grew by 954 billion rubles to 10.1 trillion rubles.
